Flower Preservation FAQ

Flower Preservation FAQ

Answers to the questions we hear most often about preserving wedding flowers and flowers from other meaningful occasions.

Do you preserve flowers only from weddings?

No. Wedding flower preservation is a primary service, but Le Rosse Studio also considers flowers from memorials, anniversaries, engagements, baby celebrations, graduations, milestone birthdays, sympathy arrangements, and other meaningful occasions.

Do I need a reservation?

Weddings: yes. A $150 non-refundable reservation deposit secures space on the preservation calendar and is applied in full toward your final preservation order.

Other meaningful occasions: no reservation is required. Contact Le Rosse Studio as soon as possible so we can review timing, flower condition, and the best receiving plan before you ship or drop off your flowers.

What if my wedding is very soon or has already happened?

If your wedding is within 7 days or has already happened, contact Le Rosse Studio before booking so we can confirm that we can receive your flowers promptly.

What if I already have the flowers from another occasion?

Contact Le Rosse Studio as soon as possible. Freshness and condition matter, and we will guide you on the best next step before you ship or arrange a local drop-off.

Can I ship my flowers?

Yes, out-of-town flowers can be shipped after receiving current flower-care and receiving instructions. Use a sturdy box, stabilize the flowers, keep them dry, avoid crushing, use expedited trackable shipping, and send them as soon as possible after the event.

Can I drop flowers off locally?

Yes. Charleston-area flower drop-off is available by appointment. Please do not leave flowers unattended.

How should I care for the flowers before they reach you?

Keep them cool indoors, away from prolonged direct sunlight, heaters, and hot cars. Do not freeze the flowers, do not spray the blooms with water, and do not pack them while wet. Handle them as little as possible.

Will every flower in my bouquet be preserved?

Not necessarily. Flowers are assessed individually when they arrive. Some blooms or petals may not be suitable because of bruising, wilting, age, moisture, or natural deterioration. We will work with the best available material from the flowers received.

Will the preserved flowers look exactly like they did when fresh?

No. Natural flowers change during preservation. Colors may soften, deepen, warm, fade, or become more muted, and texture may also change. These variations are part of the authentic botanical character of a preserved piece.

Which flowers preserve best?

Results vary by flower variety, freshness, structure, color, and condition when received. Because every bouquet is different, we assess the actual flowers before confirming the best preservation approach.

Can you preserve only part of a bouquet?

Yes. Several Le Rosse formats are designed for selected blooms, smaller flowers, or petals rather than an entire bouquet.

What preservation formats are available?

Current options include the Small Heirloom, Bridal Paperweight, Botanical Intaglio, Sculptural Heirloom, and Botanical Portrait. Each format uses flowers differently, so the best choice depends on the amount and type of floral material you want to preserve and how you want the finished piece to live in your home.

How long does preservation take?

Timing is confirmed at intake based on flower type, condition, preservation method, and the current studio schedule. We avoid promising one universal turnaround because each preservation requires different drying, preparation, composition, casting, mounting, or finishing steps.

When do I choose my final preservation piece?

For wedding reservations, the final preservation selection can be confirmed after your flowers are received and assessed. Your $150 deposit is credited toward the final order, and the remaining balance is due before final production begins.

Is the wedding reservation deposit refundable?

No. The $150 reservation deposit is non-refundable because studio capacity is held specifically for your wedding date. The full deposit is applied toward your final preservation order.

Do natural imperfections matter?

They can affect which flowers are suitable, but slight variation, softening, color change, and natural character are expected in preserved botanicals. Preservation is not intended to make real flowers look artificial or unchanged.

Can I request personalization?

Personalization is available on selected pieces. The Botanical Intaglio includes personalization, and selected larger formats may offer optional provenance-style personalization.

How should I care for my finished piece?

Display preserved work indoors away from prolonged direct sunlight, strong heat, and excessive moisture. Resin pieces can be cleaned gently with a soft cloth. Framed botanical work should also be protected from moisture and prolonged direct sun.

What if I am not sure which piece to choose?

That is completely fine. We can help you choose based on the flowers received, the amount of material suitable for preservation, your preferred format, and where you would like the finished piece to live.
