Wedding Flower Care + Shipping Guide

Fresh wedding flowers are delicate. The sooner they reach Le Rosse Studio, the better opportunity we have to preserve their natural character. Please follow these instructions after your event.

The first 24 hours: photos, water and a receiving plan

Send photos while the bouquet is fresh. Within the first 24 hours, email hello@lerossestudio.com with your name, wedding date and clear photos of the whole bouquet (front and side), close-ups of blooms you most want preserved, and any meaningful ribbon or detail. Take the photos before taking the bouquet apart. These images record its original colors and composition; we still assess the actual flowers when they arrive.

Keep cut stems in water. If possible, place the bouquet upright with the cut stem ends in a clean vase of fresh water. Keep petals, foliage and meaningful ribbon above the water. Follow any instructions from your florist.
Keep it cool indoors. Move the flowers away from direct sun, heat vents and hot cars. Do not freeze them.
Contact the studio the same day. Tell us the wedding date, flower condition and whether you plan to ship or use an appointment. We will confirm a receiving window and current address before you pack.
Pack only when the receiving plan is set. Keep flower heads dry and protected. Use the packing steps below; no loose water or vase goes inside a shipping box.

While you arrange delivery

Keep your bouquet in a cool indoor place, away from prolonged direct sunlight, heaters, hot cars and other sources of heat.
Handle the bouquet as little as possible. Bruised and crushed petals can become more visible during preservation.
Do not freeze your flowers.
Do not spray the blooms with water or pack them while wet.
If your florist provided care instructions for keeping the bouquet fresh before shipment, continue following them until you are ready to pack the flowers.

When should I send my flowers?

Send or deliver your flowers as soon as possible after the wedding. Before mailing fresh flowers, contact Le Rosse Studio so we can confirm the receiving window and current shipping destination. For out-of-town shipments, use an expedited, trackable service so the package spends as little time in transit as practical.

Ship early in the week whenever possible. Monday–Wednesday is generally preferred. A Thursday shipment requires a specifically approved receiving plan; standard flower receiving is Monday–Thursday, 9 AM–2 PM Eastern. Do not ship Friday–Sunday or immediately before a holiday unless Le Rosse Studio has specifically approved the arrival plan.

How to pack your bouquet

Use a sturdy box. Choose a box large enough that the flower heads are not pressed against the sides or top.
Stabilize the bouquet. Use clean, dry packing material around the bouquet so it cannot slide, tip or be crushed during transit. Avoid putting pressure directly on the blooms.
Protect the blooms and hydrate only the stem ends. For fresh bouquets, wrap only the cut stem ends in damp, not dripping, paper towels and secure a small plastic bag around those wrapped ends. Keep petals and flower heads dry; never seal the whole bouquet in plastic. Do not include loose water, a vase, ice or frozen gel packs. Already-dried flowers must stay dry and should not be packed with damp towels.
Include your information. Place your full name, order number, wedding date, email and phone number inside the package so we can identify the bouquet if the exterior label is damaged.
Seal the box securely. Tape all seams and make sure the package can remain upright during normal handling.

Shipping from outside Charleston

After you contact Le Rosse Studio and we confirm a receiving plan, we will provide the current flower-receiving instructions and shipping destination. The $75 early reservation is optional for weddings about a year away; closer weddings begin with a 50% initial invoice for the selected piece. Use a trackable expedited shipping service and keep your receipt and tracking number.

Once shipped: send us the carrier name, tracking number and expected arrival date and time so we know the bouquet is on the way.

Charleston-area drop-off

Local flower drop-off is available at the Hanahan studio by confirmed appointment only, Monday–Thursday from 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. After we confirm your order and receiving plan, we will coordinate the drop-off details with you. Please do not arrive without confirmation or leave flowers unattended.

What happens when the flowers arrive?

We photograph and inventory the bouquet, document its condition and assess each flower before preservation begins. Natural flowers respond differently to preservation, and some petals or blooms may be too bruised, wilted, browned, damp or fragile to use. We select the strongest viable botanical material and identify “the bloom I would protect most” for your Artist’s Intake Note.

Typical turnaround

Current resin preservation turnaround is approximately 10 weeks from receipt of viable flowers. Framed and specialty formats have their own estimates: the dimensional Botanical Portrait currently lists 4–6 months, and The Chosen Bloom lists 12–16 weeks. Flower condition, design requirements and studio availability may affect timing. We confirm your specific estimate after assessment; shipping time is additional.

Payment before finished-piece delivery

For weddings planned about a year ahead, you may use the $75 reservation credit toward your piece. For closer weddings, pay 50% of the agreed piece price first by studio invoice. The other 50% is due when the piece is ready, at least seven days before its scheduled shipment. Contact us to arrange the invoice; standard website checkout collects the listed amount in full.

Finished-piece delivery

Charleston-area pickup is available by appointment. Eligible completed preservation pieces may also be shipped within the continental United States using insured, trackable delivery. Finished-piece shipping is charged separately unless the individual listing states otherwise.

Important expectations

Natural flowers change during preservation. Whites can warm, deep colors can intensify or soften, and delicate petals can become more muted. These variations are normal and are part of the authentic botanical character of a preserved heirloom.
